What do I do if I am unable to work?
Once you have agreed to your shifts, you are not expected to take any time off.
If you are unwell you need to inform the your line manager within the approved timescale as outlined in our policies.
What should I wear?
You will be provided with a uniform consisting of two polo tops and one hoodie. These must be worn at all times.
To go with your uniform, you should wear plain dark trousers or tracksuit bottoms and suitable footwear for running around. Flip-flops are not permitted.
The children go outside in all weathers, so you should ensure you are dressed appropriately.
When do I get paid?
The pay cycle runs from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month. You are then paid for these shifts on the 10th of the following month. Holiday pay is accrued with every shift that you work. This is paid each pay period and will show as an additional line on your payslip.
Do I get break during my work?
In our Term Time Clubs, you are expected to work the full hours without a break. This would be 1.5 hours in Breakfast Club and 3 hours in the afternoon.
For Holiday Club you are paid for your whole shift so should not be going offsite. Everyone working over six hours is entitled to a 20-minute break. The Holiday Club Manager will ensure all staff have regular breaks to keep you fresh and full of enthusiasm.
What if someone needs to contact me whilst I am at work?
Once onsite, all mobile phones and smart devices need to be put away in the designated place. You are not allowed to have your phone on your person whilst working.
Every site has its own mobile and you can give the number out to anyone who needs to contact you.
You can check your phone and make calls when you are on a break and away from the children. You need to get the manager’s permission before doing this.
What training will I receive?
All staff members are required to complete online mandatory training. These courses include Prevent Duty and Channel Awareness, Online Induction and Common Core Skills and Knowledge, Policies and Procedures and Safeguarding.

Do I have to work every holiday club?
You can choose how much or how little you wish to work.
Management positions have individual working patterns and are preferred to work for full weeks to maintain consistency with the children. For other positions there is flexibility, all we ask is that you let us know when you are available and we will try to accommodate you into our schedule. Obviously, the more flexible you are the more work you are likely to get.
